“It was always said of him, that he knew how to keep Christmas well, if any man alive possessed the knowledge. May that be truly said of us, and all of us!”
Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol.
Here, we aim to keep Christmas all year round.
About She Kept Christmas
She Kept Christmas started because I wasn’t enjoying Christmas as much as I wanted to. After graduating from university, I started working in retail and tourism. Retail at Christmas can be demanding and I felt like I was missing out on a lot of the festivities.
So in 2021, I launched She Kept Christmas. I fell in love with the idea of blogging while in university. One of my classes involved setting up a blog and writing posts about our coursework. I knew I wanted to set up a blog about my interests and a blog about Christmas seemed a perfect solution.
Who is this blog for?
She Kept Christmas is a celebration of all things festive happening in Ireland with a focus on Cork. I’ll be visiting markets, going to concerts, and indulging in all the entertainments.
We’re also going to talk about festive traditions both old and new. And decorations, expect to hear a lot about decorations. And I look forward to hearing from you what makes your Christmas special. So if you cannot wait for the lights to go up and the Christmas songs to play, this is the place for you.
About Sinéad
Hi, I’m Sinéad. I am a native Corkonian with a love of books, crafts and writing. (Though I don’t write as much as I’d like to). But I am often found dabbling in some arts and crafts.
I studied English and Classics at University College Cork. I went on to complete an MA in English Literature. (So we will be talking about books!). I currently work in retail and tourism which taught me a lot about the history of the city.
I am also a shameless notebook enthusiast. (Guys, I may have too many notebooks).
So if this sounds like your kind of place, grab a hot drink and let’s get chatting.
